Nutrition Kit Distribution to CLHIV girls (less than16 years old)
Venue: VRDP office

In a heartwarming community event, Nutrition kits were distributed to 50 girls living with HIV, aimed at promoting their health and well-being. All the participants are under 16 years old and they also received a new dress along with the kit.
​
The kit included a variety of pulses like Green gram dhal, White Channa, Black beans, White peas and some snacks like Dates, biscuit packets and Yipee Noodles.

The event was followed by a sumptuous non-vegetarian lunch for all the participants and volunteers.

Thanks to Ms Ramya - District Resource Person of VRDP for organising the entire event and her team for helping us with packing the nutrition kits. Grocery Kit Donation to PLHIV patients

A nutritional grocery kit comprising of 23 items like dhal, flours and a 5 kg bag of rice was presented to 30 people living with HIV in rural areas around Salem.

Our sincere appreciation to Ms Sucheta Gupta for sponsoring 30 kgs of Rava and 30 kgs of wheat flour and Mr Sukumaran for sponsoring 30 kgs of broken channa dhal and 30 kgs of Black channa.
Our gratitude always extends to the support received from the VRDP team, thanks to Mr Muralidharan, Mr Ranganathan and Mr Diwakaran for completing this event successfully.

A Grocery kit comprising of 23 items like dhal, chillies, tamarind, flours and a 5 kg bag of rice was presented to 50 people living with HIV in rural areas around Salem.

Scholarship to HIV positive student
A Scholarship for Rs 4,000/- was presented to a HIV positive student from Ayodhyapattinam, Salem. This donation will be used for the completion of a diploma in computer science which will help him get a job. Thanks to VRDP Staffs Mrs Ramya, Mrs Vijaya, Mr Murthy, Mr Pattabiraja and Dr Kartik Rajarathnam, Mr Muralidharan, Miss Suganya for completing the event successfully.

They helped us with packing the nutritional kits, lent us the space to conduct the event and run the event without any hindrance. Our hearty thanks to Mr Muralidharan, Dr Kartik Rajarathnam, Ms Sucheta, and Ms Suganya (Murali's cousin) for representing us and completing the event successfully. The festive season is all about spreading cheer and love around and that's exactly what our board team have fulfilled today. 51 CLHIV Girls received nutritional kits comprising of 8 grocery items and a new dress - abundant thanks to all the organizers, sponsors and donors who made this event possible. "The kids got so excited seeing their new dress and all the goodies - gave us an immense feeling of satisfaction and happiness" exclaimed Mr Muralidharan.

Medical expenses support for HIV Patient
Medicine worth Rs 14000/- was procured and handed over to an HIV Patient. He was suffering from an acute condition called CMV Retinitis and any delay would lead to loss of vision.

Yoga Training for CLHIV Children
A successful event took place for the CLHIV children (under 18 kids from rural areas around Salem) on March 13, 2021. Three yoga teachers from Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Baba's 'Art of living foundation' were invited to teach yoga for the kids aiding to improve their physical and mental health. Applause to the teachers for demonstrating systematic teaching of many yoga postures and the kids participated with complete enthusiasm. Master Ashwatha Narayan displayed a few yoga postures showcasing strength, agility and flexibility. A hearty non-vegetarian meal was served to all the children and attendees.
Post lunch, Dr Manjunathan gave a motivational speech regarding the importance of cleaner surroundings. The children with some volunteers right away got into the task of cleaning the surroundings of their NGO office.
Dr Kartik Rajaratnam, Mr Muralidharan and Mrs Lavanya distributed the nutritional kit to all the attendees consisting of one kg of black channa, one kg of roasted bengal gram dhal, 250 gms of peanut bar, 100 grams of dates, biscuit packet and IDC Roll cake along with immunity-boosting vitamin syrup. A stationery kit comprising of 1 geometry box, 4 doms pencil with eraser, sharpener, 2 notebooks, ink pen with extra cartridges was also part of the kit.
